kids had a hard time without internet at canyon. live and learn.our key cards never worked , complained but didnt help, must have went thru 30 cards...did storm point trail at about 6pm or so...first hubby and i decided to fake the boys out as we started to enter the darker part of forest (trail opens up again midway, very cool trail)so...we counted to 3 and started to run back, they were behind us...they ran like heck...very funny...nearly peed my pants...then later...we saw a grizzly bear...luckily we happened to all look behind us...and we all walked outa there as fast as we could single file..this was at the end of the trail....very scary, we were hoping that trail was taking us O U T ....where its somewhat dark in there...tall trees, etc. awesome hike...wow...did mount washburn too that was fun. more bear there too. saw a coyote in hayden valley. saw more bear up at tower area.along with sheep and baby.took scenic boat cruise at lake, great tour guide told us about "E.C. Waters" a guy who eventually got kicked out YNP..for "rendering himself obnoxious"!! so funny, he really just seemed like such an enthusiast for the park, but ultimately too many antics, so the army kicked him out...).natural bridge trail was closed due to bear activity...too tired to do elephant back trail after mt washburn the day before. stayed at cascade lodge...very nice amongst not-so-nice cabins...the kids who work there are way fun to talk with.guess they are overstaffed this year...we talked to an area manager there one morning...many kids taking jobs due to economy..they actually hire in october not knowing how many will respond exactly. our rental mini van was wonderful (budget, they add on $100 tax at the end and if you dont buy the daily insurance, they hold like triple the amount on your credit card, liked having the nsurance tho). had xm radio.great trip. did lots of laughing with my kids....
