Not much, of course. But in the evening after dark we will have to be somewhere. I have three teenagers so they will be up in the evening. I thought, at least from the internet, that Lake looked nicer--both terms of the cabins and the lodge. Is that true?

I guess I am just trying to be clear about what trade offs I am making (like when I asked my 17 year old son if he wanted to share a bed with his brother in the park or have his own futon in W. Yellowstone--he said park.)

Can you hike any of the trails of the Grand Canyon directly from Canyon cabins (or do you need to drive to a trail head)? This certainly is one of the areas I would like most to see (and hike).
